Over the years, Sunpro (now ADT Solar) has grown so much we decided to figure out exactly how much that is. In terms we can all understand. Which is why decided to break it down for you in this blog about… entertainment.
First of all, here’s a little background on us.
Growing, growing, growing…
ADT Solar started in 2008 and in the last 3 years has seen a growth of 1,235%! That’s right, 1,235 percent.
And since 2008 when we had only one location in Mandeville, Louisiana, we now have 31 locations in 15 states as of 2020!
Not only that, but we keep growing, and we have our satisfied customers to thank. Because they’re the ones who keep talking about us. Okay, now for the fun part. We got to thinking, how much electricity exactly do our customers produce?

Since we started, we’ve installed over 100,000 kilowatts to over 13,000 customers. But what exactly does that mean?

Power a Magical Kingdom
All of our customer’s energy could pay Disney World’s electricity bill for 56 days.
We’re not exactly sure just how much power Disney World uses in a day since they have their own power company and TWO solar farms. One of which, by the way, is shaped like Mickey Mouse. Google it. You’re welcome.
But we do know that we could at least cover their electricity bill for awhile. It may not seem like a lot, but think about just how massive Disney World is. It’s basically its own mini world.
And speaking of theme parks, that much power could also run a rollercoaster for over a million rides!

Power Your Favorite Blockbusters… and Time Travel?
All of our customers could power 250 AMC theaters for 1 year. Or, 1 AMC theater for about 250 years.
And for any fans out there of Back to the Future? Well our customers could send Doc & Marty back to the future 150 times! (Remember they needed 1.2 “jiggawatts”, or commonly translated as ‘gigawatts’.)
And for sports fans out there, our customers could…
Power Up Your Team’s Home Runs
In 1 year, our customers could provide enough power to 6 MLB stadiums for an entire season.
Or… 109 FIFA World Cup tournaments!
The stadium used to play one World Cup event consumes up to 25,000 kilowatts for 90 minutes! The power used in those 90 minutes could keep more than a dozen homes going for an entire year.

That’s right, in fact, they could power over 30 million hours of watching Netflix! That’s a lot of Netflix, even when you’re binging on all 8 seasons of your favorite shows! So it’s safe to say they could power your Netflix watching for your entire lifetime.
