ADT Solar and ADT security are empowering two Colorado families by giving them a rooftop solar system and security system for their Habitat for Humanity home. The families will soon be able to manage their energy bills and become more eco-friendly in their safe, smart and sustainable home.
The gestures are part of an initiative started by the Mission Homestead Development, in partnership with Commonwealth Companies. Working together and with donors like ADT Solar and ADT security, these organizations are replacing homes lost in floods with Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity homes and affordable rentals. These donations will help further Habitat for Humanity’s mission to solve the affordable housing crisis.
“We are helping these families escape environments of high crime, high cost housing and high utility bills. We are grateful to ADT and for this partnership and for this opportunity to help two deserving families,” said Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Cheri Witt-Brown.
“The place that we live in is really small. It’s accommodating all three of us, so we’re sharing everything. It’s been a long way and we’re excited for all of it,” said Anthony Martinez, one of the homeowners. Hear more about how this initiative is changing the families’ lives for the better:
Working alongside the two families to help make their house a home, ADT Solar and ADT security volunteers spread a little more of their sunshine at the home site. Volunteers measured, sawed and applied siding to the duplex. With the help of the volunteers, Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity crew and the homeowners themselves, the duplex will be ready for occupancy in a few months.
The Colorado build marks the third in a series of safe, smart, and sustainable homes that ADT Solar, ADT security and Habitat for Humanity are bringing to life. The fourth build will be in Las Vegas, Nevada.
