Referral App FAQs
It is ADT Solar’s Referral program, where we give back to our users and customers, providing them with a way to earn some quick cash! The referral app is a way for you to refer friends and family members to ADT Solar and Buildpro. As a thank you for sending them our way, we will give you $35 for every qualified referral!
If the person you referred qualifies for solar or a new roof, they will be offered a free consultation. If they agree to sit down and speak with our consultant, the person you referred will receive $25 after their consultation.
If the person you referred decides to go solar with ADT Solar you will receive $1000. If the person you referred gets a roof, you will receive $500. And yes, if they get both solar and a roof, you get $1500!!
The ADT Solar Referral App is available for iPhone and Android devices. You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play by searching “ADT Solar.” If you do not have a smartphone, you can use a computer and register online here. Once you are registered, you will receive a confirmation text via SMS*. This will have your account information and a link to download the app. Once you have downloaded the ADT Solar Referral App, you can submit referrals on the go! *Message and data rates may apply.
You can! The ADT Solar Referral app allows you to track from when they enter our system to when they make a purchase. You can see all of this on your Referral Detail page.
Policies & Procedures
No, you do not have to be a customer of either ADT Solar or Buildpro to refer people and receive rewards.
You can refer any homeowner who needs a new roof or is a good solar candidate!
If ADT Solar or Buildpro receives the lead from multiple referrers, the referral fee will be paid only to the referrer who first submits the lead (indicated by the date of entry into our database). However, the homeowner who was referred can indicate who they would like to receive the referral payment prior to the payment being sent.
Navigate to your profile page and select the pencil icon. From there, you can select the option to update your preferred sales rep and save the changes.

We are currently only accepting residential referrals.
No! You can refer as many people as you want! There is no limit!
No, you cannot refer someone in the same household that has the same address as you.
Payment
You can choose to receive your rewards via bank ACH transfer or wire transfer. ACH Bank transfer is free; there is a charge for wire transfer.
We pay our $35 referral fee after the sales appointment is seen by our consultant. It can take up to 14 business days, but usually is paid sooner. The $25 for the person who was referred will be paid out after the sales appointment is seen as long as they have downloaded the referral app (or registered online at goadtsolar.com/referral) and created an account.
If your referral goes solar or gets a new roof, you will receive your reward after installation.
This shows you what you COULD be earning if your referrals agree to an appointment, and/or go solar with ADT Solar! On the referral detail page, you can send them a text reminder to nudge them along!
Referral Rewards may be taxable, depending on the value of the item and the federal, state, and local tax laws applicable to the Participant. ADT Solar does not offer tax advice and Participants should consult with their tax professional for any questions. Participants are solely responsible for reporting such items on their tax returns and paying any associated tax liability.
When rewarding for referrals through the ADT Solar App, it is classified as a digital payment through XTRM. Third-party settlement organizations are required to issue a 1099-K after 200 transactions and paying out over $20,000. Whether the payee receives a 1099-K or not, they are still required to report that income to the IRS (and state, if applicable) and pay taxes accordingly.
